Amber fort is principal tourist attraction in India. Amber fort is situated 11 kilometres away from the centre of the pink city Jaipur. Amer Fort is also known as Amber fort. Amber is a small town with four square kilometres area under Jaipur. The fort has earned a place in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of India.

Amer Fort is Built in 16th century by Raja Man singh. Actually before 16th century Amer was known as Dhundar and ruled by Kachhwahas. The fort stands on the rocky hill of Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) that over looks the Jaipur and situated next to the Maota lake. Before 16th century Amer was the capital of Rajasthan. In 16th century capital of Rajasthan is moved from Amer to Jaipur and Raja Man singh has built a fort which became famous as Amer Fort. Constructed in the Senibinanya artistic style, combining elements of Hinduism and Mughal symmetry throughout. Later on Raja Jai Singh has renovated this Amer Fort. Amer Fort is also known as Amer Palace. Amer fort is really very beautiful from inside. It includes popular buildings which are Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Mahal Diwan - i - Aam. Amer fort also includes Shila devi temple and Ganesh Pol. Amer Fort and five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.
