Located at the East Coast of India in the Anantagiri Hill range of the Araku Valley at Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.The Borra Caves Spread across an area of about 2 sq km and situated around 1,400 m above sea level.

Borra Caves is one of the most wonderful caves in India. Inside the cave there are lots of sculptures which are made naturally by the rain water. In 1807 the caves were Considered to be one of the largest caves in India. The caves of Borra are famous for stalagmite and stalactite formations. The cave derived its name from such a formation that resembled the human brain. Inside the cave is a Shivalinga and the idol of the holy cow Kamadenu that are regarded to be divine by the local people here. This is a must visit destination in Araku Valley which is 120 kms away from Vizag city. This place was formed around 200 million years ago and the authorities made a good effort in keeping it clean. The Humic acid in the water reacts with the Calcium Carbonate in the limestone and dissolves the minerals breaking the rock gradually.
The Borra Caves, also called Borra Guhalu in Telugu language located on the East Coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku valley hill ranges elevation varying from 800 m to 1,300 m of the Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. The interior of the caves is made colorful as well as spectacular by 63 lamps of sodium vapor, mercury and halogen lamps respectively. These million year old Borra caves holds the great religious importance among the Hindus in India. This cave is the biggest in India considering the area it has spread geographically. Colourful lights in the valley add beauty to the caves. The board with attractions are also available to the tourists.
Entry Fee And Other Charges For Visit The Borra Caves
The entry ticket of The Borra Caves is just 30/- per and camera is allowed for 50/-. Video and Digital cameras are allowed but there are some charges for it. you are interested in photography you may take the cameras along with yourself that may cost you Rs 25 and for the video cameras they will charge you Rs 100.
