The Ambaji Temple was originally built by Nagar Brahmins. Ambaji mata temple is a major Shakti Peeth of India. It is also beleived that the mundan of Lord Krishna was performed at Ambaji. No idol of devi inside garbh gruh only yantra is there. The temple complex is a constructed with white marble. There are magnificent 103 feet triangular golden dome also known as the Suvarn Kalash Shikhar carved out of a single piece of marble and weighing about 3 tones. The top end of the dome is gold plated overseeing a vast stretch of verandah that extends all the way to the entrance gate to the temple.
